Composites
Composites are polymeric matrixes of strengthening materials (such as carbon fiber or fiberglass) that provide superior performance and advanced mechanical features that are not attainable using single materials (CFRTP – Continuous Fiber Reinforced Thermoplastic Composites). Composites enable the manufacturing of low density, high thermal and mechanical stability products. Today, we can match the composite attributes to the product design specifications, for example, make it UV inherent or especially rigid in certain strategic locations. Composites can replace metals, have design flexibility and are recyclable. These materials are becoming increasingly popular in industries such as mobility and transportation, construction, medical devices and equipment, oil and gas, sports, and aerospace.

- Bond Laminates, a LANXESS group company – offers Tepex® polyamide-based thermoplastic composites (PA6 / PA66 / PA12 – polyamides), polypropylene, thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) and flame retardant polycarbonate (FR PC). Moreover, composites based on other raw materials (such as high density polyethulene (HDPE), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), polyamide 11 (PA11), polyactic acid (PLA)) are available upon request.
- Covestro – offers Maezio® polycarbonate-based thermoplastic composites and thermoplastic polyurethane-based composites.
- INEOS Styrolution – offers StyLight® styrene acrylonitrile copolymer (SAN)- and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene / polyamide (ABS/PA)-based thermoplastic composites.
In addition, Covestro offers water-based polyurethane dispersions for sizing.
