Catalysts

Chemical catalysts are compounds that increase the rate of chemical reactions, but are not consumed or changed during the process. For example, a catalyst can cause a reaction to occur in a lower temperature. The fact that the catalyst is not affected in the reaction enables us to use it in small quantities. For these characteristics, catalysts can reduce manufacturing costs by saving time and energy, without changing the composition of the end-product.
