Gowan began over 50 years ago as an entomology consulting business where owner and founder Jon Jessen walked the fields and orchards alongside growers to help them identify, and solve, their toughest pest protection problem. Over the years Gowan has evolved into an integrated agriculture input business that includes the development, registration, and marketing of crop protection products as well as seeds and fertilizers, retail, and contract formulation and warehousing.

Gowan’s purpose is to provide solutions to the less visible problems of agriculture that, if left unaddressed, can devastate crop production. We create value for our customers by entrenching ourselves in their world, walking the fields alongside them, and understanding the compelling problems that impact their businesses. We then dedicate our efforts to find elegant solutions to address these tough plant protection problems. 50+ years later our mission remains the same, to dedicate our resources to solving the underserved niche needs of growers around the world.
